This Rodent Control on Farms e-learning course is approved by the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use - CRRU training and working group.
It is the responsibility of anyone involved in carrying out rodent control to be familiar with the relevant legislation concerning the humane and effective management of rat and mouse problems.
From March 2018, anticoagulant rodenticide sold to non-professionals will reduce in concentration from 50 parts per million (ppm) to 30ppm or less. In addition, the size of packs available for amateur customers will reduce to a maximum size of 300g for block and 150g for wheat, pasta and pellet baits. If you wish to buy rodenticide in greater quantities for professional use in the UK, you are required to evidence that you have received training in using rodenticide and controlling rodents. The course itself gives an overview of how people become depressed, how our brains interpret depression, how to self-soothe and actions we may take to help elevate the symptoms we face. The Animal Medicines Best Practice (AMBP) training programme was developed in partnership with stakeholders from across the food supply chain to provide robust training that represents current best practice in the use of medicines on farm.
The first course developed by AMBP is focused on antibiotics. This ‘Antibiotics in Dairy’ e-learning course is designed to train people in the responsible use of antibiotics on farm.
The course covers the fundamentals of antibiotics and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) with a mix of theory and practical applications such as on farm antibiotic management, responsibilities and best practice in responsible use.
There is a minimum requirement to complete 3 modules. This must include two core modules, plus at least one focus module. The focus module is selected from a choice of 5, which include modules on mastitis, lameness, respiratory disease, calf scour and the disposal of antibiotic waste.
A Certificate of Training is available to download or print upon successful completion.
